DEALING WITH FEEDBACK

OUGD402 - PPP Feedback:

Clear, professional well articulated with verbal and visual presentation. Good use of
reflection and analysis of experiences. Good use of identification of professionals and
analysis of their approach and how it relates to your own.

Good use of own work and analysis of own approach. Very proactive with external and additional projects. Appropriate, effective and well informed personal branding. A well illustrated presentation with a confident tone as well as organised. Plans based on reflection of Level 04 and the studios that you are looking at that may have some kind of ‘synergetic’ draw are good and the studios you mentioned all ‘challenge’ and plough an independent furrow, meaning they are not influenced by
trend or style (unless it is one they have themselves originated). Good to see Summer plans include some collaborative practice. Make time to relax and enjoy things that aren’t 100% ‘creative’ it will help the muscles relax for a while.

OUGD405 - DESIGN PROCESS Feedback:

Very thorough submission and approach to this module. You have managed your time effectively and sought further feedback on your designs independently of organised crits. Very thorough analysis and reflection on design treatments and decisions. Your research is appropriate and fairly varied although aim to explore a subject beyond the obvious examples.

OUGD404 - DESIGN PRINCIPALS Feedback:

You need to approach your research with a critical and analytical lens, otherwise it is difficult to demonstrate your awareness and how it has informed your design decisions and practice. In terms of production the binding should have been tighter. Good use of B&W mock-ups to identify issues such as pagination. The documentation of your work is very thin and descriptive. You really need to manage your time effectively to allow you to thoroughly document what and why your decisions are and how they have been informed.

Looking back on this feedback from last year, Its clear that I need to manage my time better and document my work more clearly. The design principals module was the lowest grade that I received last year, and I think it's apparent why that is. My documentation of the module wasn't up to standard compared to other modules, and I know that I need to keep the same standard if I want to achieve a good average grade.
